Off to Eden Leisure Village this time around for the lovely wedding of Amanda and Kenny!

I was at the venue nice and early, and was greeted firstly by a hare hopping past the reception entrance and secondly by Janet (one of the owners) who immediately offered me a coffee. As you may know this is a guaranteed way to become my friend, so needless to say I was pretty taken with this venue from the off!

I spent some time with Amanda and her bridesmaids and flower-girls capturing the methodical process of everyone getting ready for the ceremony. I also made a point of grabbing some photos of Amanda’s bouquet and the gents’ buttonholes, as Amanda had made these herself – how cool! There were a lot of really tasteful little details as part of Amanda and Kenny’s styling of their day, which you’ll see in some of the images.

I then went along to the ceremony area - it was a gorgeous day so we were outside, and Des (the other owner) was setting up the flower wall for Amanda. Not long after that the guests started to filter in, followed by Kenny and his sons. I grabbed a few photos of Kenny chatting with his groomsmen and the celebrant Jennifer Buchan. Before too long Janet appeared on her golf cart with the first group of bridesmaids, followed soon after by the second group and then, lastly, Amanda and her Maids of Honour.

Amanda and Kenny’s ceremony was a really lovely affair with real emphasis on their families and the close-knit bonds between and surrounding the happy couple. I got some cool confetti shots at the end and then gave the couple a bit of time to chat to their nearest and dearest before whisking them off (in the golf cart again, naturally) to the woods for some couple portraits.

Speeches next, and the wedding party were piped in by The Wee Pied Piper before Amanda’s son, the groom then Amanda’s daughter entertained the room with some succinct words about the day.

Said Wee Pied Piper and I then headed off for a bite to eat ourselves while the bride, groom and their guests were fed and watered. After a good chat we then got back to it, and I got some really nice photos of the happy couple and their guests relaxing in the evening sun before the cake-cutting and first dance.

I stayed and took photos during the first few dances, and once guests had settled back down to the benches and some deep conversations I took my leave, wending my way back down to Ayrshire. I had a really nice day with these guys – they were very laid-back and happy to let me do my thing, and it’s nice to get that level of trust from my clients.

What can I say about Peter - he was friendly, professional and attentive without being overbearing, his work was amazing and I was a nervous bride who hates being photographed but Peter and I spoke and he honestly made me feel at ease. His work was to a very high standard and he met all my needs that we had previously discussed over a relaxed coffee chat.

If you’re looking for a down-to-earth photographer who can capture your special moments without being intrusive and get those special photos when you aren't even aware, then Peter is your man. I wouldn't hesitate in recommending Peter for your upcoming events, you won't be disappointed!
